I think I am starting to pick up the Minnesota trait of being very clan-ish in my old age.

It reminds me of that line from the third Indiana Jones movie where Indie asks his dad why he wants to spend time with him now when he didn't seem to want to when he was a child, and his father replies, "Well you weren't nearly as interesting then as you are now!" or some such.

I enjoy my kids at all their ages, but it's great when you can have more peer-like relationships with them.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-815371417292153793.post-6714886382510169802010-04-16T12:04:22.902-06:002010-04-16T12:04:22.902-06:00Isn't it great to enjoy your kids like that? ...Isn't it great to enjoy your kids like that? I know I'm really enjoying my two who are grown. I love to see them spread their wingsm but one of mine spread her wings so much that she's now living 2,000 miles away. The other three were all two years apart, and they were great, but it was a lot harder. Plus, having her in our forties meant we didn't get in a dither about some things like we did with the other three. Is your oldest the 22 year old? Sounds like you may have the same situation we do.bZirkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05086707471450034283noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-815371417292153793.post-51059367942640496412010-04-16T11:45:11.996-06:002010-04-16T11:45:11.996-06:00Beautiful kids - I didn't realize you had chil...Beautiful kids - I didn't realize you had children that young. I wonder how many such discoveries we miss in our busy world?

In high school I knew a boy who could do this - as far as we could tell, he could name the days of dates centuries in the past. We would quiz him and then scuttle off to find a calendar to verify; he always nailed it.

In those days the condition was was referred to as 'idiot savante' - I imagine that term has fallen out of favor now.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-815371417292153793.post-35938648303787835502010-04-16T10:24:54.724-06:002010-04-16T10:24:54.724-06:00I'm glad you enjoyed it.
